CAPE's “Too Young to Test” bill (HB 2318) is ready for testimony in Oregon’s House Education Committee.

We need all supporters of better assessment, less standardized testing, and age appropriate assessment to email the Chairperson of the House Education Committee in advance of that committee’s hearing next Monday afternoon.

by this Friday with a short message and tell her you support HB 2318 because it will eliminate all mandated standardized testing of our youngest students in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.

This bill allows for teachers to determine which assessments to use - as well they should. Our state and local districts mandate way too many standardized measures; this bill will begin the movement to more age appropriate, better constructed, more relevant testing.
